February is I Love to Read Month, and United Way is proud to celebrate by hosting our annual Book Drive in support of children’s literacy.  During the month of February, organizations, businesses, and individuals are encouraged to donate gently used books to United Way.

Reading opens doors to imagination, confidence, and lifelong learning. By sharing gently used children’s books, our community can help spark a love of reading that lasts far beyond the page.

Books collected through this drive will be given to pre kindergarden through elementary students who participate in the Traveling Tree House summer programming. Having access to books outside the classroom helps reinforce reading skills, encourages curiosity, and supports learning in a fun and meaningful way.

The United Way Book Drive is about more than collecting books. It is about investing in children, strengthening literacy, and creating positive experiences with reading. When kids have books they are excited about, they are more likely to read for enjoyment and build confidence as learners. Together, we can help make reading a source of joy for children across our communities!

If you want to donate books as an individual, you can drop your donation off at either of our United Way offices Mon - Thur 8-4pm

If you are interested in hosting a collection as a business or organization, you can reach out to us at rwise@uwlp.org or by filling out the interest form below.
